Water Heater Maintenance
- Check operation of water heater.
- Clean pilot, ignitor, and burner assembly.
- Clean nests, bugs, webs, and debris from service door.
- Drain and flush water heater tank.
- Check operation of pop off valve.
- Check drain plug or anode rod condition.
(Additional part charges will apply for Atwood drain plugs or Suburban anode rod if needed during service.)
How often should I drain my RV water heater?
It’s important to drain your RV water heater at the end of every season. Any longer than that, you risk the water becoming stale and/or contaminated, which can give off a sulfur smell and may even be unhealthy if consumed. If you don’t flush your water heater yearly, buildup on the bottom of the water heater will become a breeding ground for that bacteria.
