Grand Design Solitude RV Service & Repairs
Grand Design Solitude fifth wheels are designed for extended travel, comfortable living, and a wide range of camping needs.
Like all recreational vehicles, they require regular maintenance and inspections. Their size, weight, multiple slide-out rooms, and onboard systems can create additional service considerations.
Our technicians inspect, diagnose, service, and repair many of the components and systems found on Solitude fifth wheels.
Grand Design Solitude Roof Inspections, Repairs & Resealing
Your Solitude’s roof and exterior sealants are among the most important areas to inspect and maintain.
Water intrusion can develop around roof seams, front and rear caps, vents, skylights, roof accessories, windows, and exterior body joints.
California RV Specialists offers:
- RV roof inspections and preventative maintenance
- Roof sealant removal and replacement
- Dicor lap sealant maintenance
- RV roof repairs and membrane replacements
- RV roof coating services
- Front and rear cap resealing
- Roof vent, skylight, and accessory resealing
- Exterior body sealant maintenance
- Water leak inspections and water damage repairs
Even minor sealant deterioration can eventually allow moisture into roof, wall, and floor assemblies.
We encourage Solitude owners to have their roof and exterior sealants inspected regularly.
Grand Design Solitude Frame Cracks, Lippert Frame & Structural Repairs
Frame and structural concerns are important issues for fifth-wheel owners to understand.
California RV Specialists has hands-on experience inspecting and performing select frame and structural repairs on Grand Design RVs, including concerns involving Lippert chassis components.
Our services include:
- RV frame and I-beam inspections
- Frame crack evaluations and select repairs
- Suspension hanger inspections and repairs
- Spring hanger reinforcement
- Select frame reinforcement and structural repairs
- Frame and suspension damage assessments
- Manufacturer-authorized frame repairs when applicable
- Inspection of visible signs of excessive movement or structural damage
Potential warning signs can include visible frame cracks, damaged suspension hangers, abnormal gaps, changing exterior panel alignment, or unusual movement around structural connections.
Not every crack or cosmetic concern indicates a major structural failure. Proper inspection is necessary to determine the cause, severity, and appropriate next steps.
Important: Manufacturer warranty coverage, recalls, and repair authorization are evaluated individually. Not every frame concern qualifies for manufacturer coverage.
Grand Design Solitude Slide-Out Service & Repairs
Many Solitude fifth wheels have multiple slide-out rooms that require periodic inspection and maintenance.
Depending on the model and year, slide-out systems may use different mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic components.
California RV Specialists provides:
- Slide-out inspections and troubleshooting
- Slide-out adjustments and repairs
- Slide-out floor inspections and replacements
- Slide-out seal inspections and replacement
- Slide-out motor and electrical diagnostics
- Slide-out alignment evaluations
- Water intrusion and leak repairs
- Select hydraulic slide-out system service
Common concerns include damaged slide-out floors, worn components, failed seals, water leaks, mechanical problems, and rooms that do not extend or retract correctly.
We recommend having developing problems inspected before continuing to operate a malfunctioning slide-out.
Solitude Suspension, Wheel Bearings & Brake Maintenance
Suspension and braking systems are especially important on larger fifth-wheel RVs.
Our team provides:
- Wheel bearing inspections and service
- Electric brake inspections and repairs
- Axle and suspension inspections
- Leaf spring inspections and replacements
- Shackle and bushing maintenance
- Suspension equalizer inspections
- Spring hanger and frame inspections
- Trailer lighting and brake wiring inspections
Regular inspections can help identify wear, loose components, and developing failures.
Owners should also monitor loaded trailer weights, axle ratings, tire capacities, and manufacturer maintenance recommendations.

Grand Design Solitude Hydraulic Leveling System Service
Many Grand Design Solitude fifth wheels are equipped with electric or hydraulic leveling systems.
Depending on the model, these systems may require periodic inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
California RV Specialists can assist with select leveling system concerns, including:

- Leveling jack troubleshooting
- Electrical and control system diagnostics
